Jon & Colleen + 7 Airports

Get it? heeheehee

Modern travel requires little physical effort, other than hoisting luggage into car trunks, airports, and up stairs. Why, then, am I so flipping exhausted upon arriving back at our apartment? Sheesh! Jon and I came home tonight to zero living space disasters, thank goodness, and an over-stuffed mailbox. He was happy to receive evaluations on 6 of his homebrews from the Sam Adams’ LongShot contest, and looks forward to making improvements for next years’ entries. His Trippel was very close to “Excellent”! I received loads of useless advertising from local schools (Back off! I’m taken!), several financially-themed statements, and too many issues of The Week and Rolling Stone to possibly catch up on with a crazy week ahead.

We are both anxious to get back into our routines this week, but more so on the side of anxiety than excitement. By the end of the week I hope to complete a paper on my summer research project, totally settle in from the clutter of traveling, and be psychologically ready for classes starting next Monday. Wish me luck.

Many thanks to Jon’s and my folks, Kristen&Patrick, the Reeds, and the Johnsons, for making our Michigan stay extremely comfortable and collectively entertaining. We’re thrilled to return to the Mitten again in November for Jimmy&Sarah’s wedding – and to celebrate Jon’s 27th birthday!
