Coming home late to a freshly opened and sorted pile of mail can elicit a lovely “WELCOME HOME” feeling, or an annoying plea to “PAY ME! DONATE! APPLY! RIGHT NOW!”. Tonight was thankfully the former, as I was surprised with three copies of the most recent issue of the ASDA News, with page 9 containing an article I wrote! My mother will be thrilled, since she is an even more ridiculous mediaphile than me.
The American Student Dental Association (ASDA) puts out several publications, and I am thrilled that they allow me to evangelize on issues completely pertinent to my own life but possibly not yet on the minds of other dental students.
I’m not sure what my next article will be on, possibly the increasing presence of female leadership in dentistry? Though, clearly, it’s been covered. Possibly the fact that the more competitive the undergraduate institution, the less likely students there are to apply to dental schools… that’s weird, right? We’ll see! Any ideas?
