As a rampant Facebook Liker (and someone born in 1984, therefore obsessed with this book), I want to apologize for my Liking actions.  turpenoid: This is exactly why George Orwell will always be one of my favorite authors.

Last night around 9pm my sister made the following statement in a Facebook chat about her day at work in a Southeastern Michigan hospital: “and people thought Kevorkian was the only one euthanizing people”.  Then he died a few hours later in a Southeastern Michigan hospital. STRANGE TIMING, no? Rest in peace, Doctor. Better Spanish through Questionable Facebook Stalking

Most sane teachers would never ever BeFriend their students these days. Just don’t do it.

I, however, entered the profession of teaching without even having a Facebook. I’m pretty sure it had just been invented. By the time I left the classroom, I had a teensy squeaky clean profile and could not comprehend NOT keeping up with some of my favorite homeroom ladies as they entered the world of college or retail employment or motherhood or Afghanistan or some bizarre combination of said worlds.

They are all now older than I was in my first year of teaching (WHAT?!?), which leaves me 43-years-old-feeling. I stand by my FB Friending decisions, especially when it allows me to continue brushing up on my pequeno Espanol skillz.

HOW COOL OF A WORD IS ‘SORPRESITA’? I love it. You are not allowed to imagine anything other than a little teddy bear or homecooked enchiladas as the sorpresita.

It’s a joy to stalk appropriately observe these neophyte adults and see how their vidas progress. Especially Even the loko ones.
