haiku time

Ode to Las Vegas.

We worked. We played. We conquered.

I adore roulette.

"Thanks to the (NBA) lockout, there might not be a basketball season this year. But if you want to watch millionaires throwing elbows, there’s still the Republican presidential race."

STEPHEN COLBERT, The Colbert Report (via inothernews)

It seems Las Vegas has quickly become the center of the universe. First, I spent a very dental week there, ending in phone loss and a surge of professional pride.

Then a Nascar event ends in tragedy.

Then the Republican candidates’ debate ends in millions of hilarious internet observations.

Totes kray kray.

Mother, you’re a Firework. Come on show ‘em what you’re worth.
You don’t have to feel like a waste of space You’re original, cannot be replaced
Last week I enjoyed revisiting my mother’s skillful teasing. This week I’d like to highlight her passionate advocacy for the rights of women. Or at least, equal access to legal prostitution services.

I can’t believe it’s almost been a year since our inaugural Vegas weekend. I’m grateful to have traveled as much in 2010 as I did, even though many of my visits were to quite deprived and depraved areas. More on that in a future brogging post.
